You can query the map simply tapping on any element on it. Depending on the element you select, you get the 2 most common actions for that element as an icon on the left and on the right of the popup.
Map information popup
When you tap on the map, a Map Information popup appears, displaying various content and buttons based on the object you tap on. When no specific object is selected, the Quick Info box typically appears like this:
- The button on the left allows to start creating a new Route from that point.
- The text in the middle shows (from top to bottom):
- in the first row: the description of the most relevant map object at this location
- in the second row: the Mile Marker corresponding to this point (if available, currently US only), along with the bearing and distance from your current GPS position to this point
- in the third row: the coordinates of this point
- The button on the right allow to create a new marker in that position.
Here is a list of other buttons/actions you may have when selecting different objects on the map:
- Opens a dedicated page with all the info of the selected object,
- Allows you to edit an existing route,
- Allows you to share the selected object,
- Allows you to start a Chat with the selected Live Sharing user.
- Initiates the Tide & Current prediction simulation,
- Opens a dedicated page with the list of all the USCG LNM info related to the selected point,
- Opens the photo corresponding to the selected object (when available).
You can drag the box selecting the blue cross below the box and keeping the finger pressed, then move it around the screen.
Map Information details page
If you tap on the center part of the Map information popup, a new page will open containing the list of all the objects near the position you selected.
On this page, you will find some fixed information:
- The first row always shows the coordinates of the tapped point. Tap here to change the coordinates. If you make changes, the page will close, and the map will zoom to the new point.
- The second row provides weather information for the selected position. Tap here for a detailed weather forecast. Note: You need an active Internet connection and an Aqua Map Master subscription for this feature.
- The following rows give brief descriptions of elements (user, map, additional, etc.) at the tapped position. Tap any row for more details.
